A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. This page lists every one that can end up there through DailyAtlas.
What we set ourselves
Nothing that tracks you. We use browser localStorage — not cookies — for two preferences, and neither leaves your device:

You could block both and lose nothing but the convenience.
What Google sets
This is where the actual tracking is.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
Google and its partners set cookies to choose which ads you see and to stop you seeing the same one twenty times. These may be used to build a profile of your interests across sites.

Turning off personalisation does not remove ads. It makes them less relevant and, for us, less valuable — but that is your call to make, not ours.
Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
If enabled, GA4 sets cookies to count unique visits and measure which pages get read. You can block it entirely with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
If you are in Europe
Under the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive, advertising cookies need consent before they are set. Google enforces this: without a certified consent banner it will not serve personalised ads to European visitors, which cuts your revenue there sharply.
This site does not ship a banner, because a banner you have not configured is worse than none. Add one before launch. CookieYes and Termly both have free tiers, are Google-certified CMPs, and are a single script tag. Add it to the head() function in build.mjs so it lands on every page.
Turning cookies off in your browser
Every browser can block or delete cookies. Blocking all of them breaks parts of many sites, though not this one.
