Editorial Policy

This page describes how we actually work. If we ever fail to meet it, tell us.
How an article gets made
- We pick the question first. Articles start from a question people genuinely ask, not from a keyword with good ad rates.
- We research primary sources. Official documentation, regulator and government pages, published research, manufacturer specifications. Not other blogs.
- We check it against reality where we can. If a claim can be tested, priced, or timed, we test, price or time it.
- A person edits it. Every article is read line by line by a human who is willing to have their name on it.
- We date it. Publication date, and a separate "last checked" date that moves when we re-verify.
On AI
We use AI tools for research, outlining and drafting. We do not publish AI output as an article.
Every piece is verified and edited by a person before it goes up, and that person is accountable for it. Where a claim came from an AI tool and could not be verified against a primary source, the claim gets cut rather than published with a hedge.
We think mass-produced AI content is bad for readers and, separately, a bad business — it is exactly what search engines have spent the last two years learning to filter out.
Sourcing
- Factual claims that are not obvious carry a source.
- We link to the primary source, not to someone else's summary of it.
- Where we could not verify something, we say so in the article rather than implying certainty.
Corrections
Errors get fixed, not hidden.
- Factual error: corrected as soon as we confirm it, with a dated note at the bottom of the article.
- Something out of date: updated, and the "last checked" date moves.
- Something unclear: rewritten, no note needed.
We do not delete an article to make a mistake disappear.
Independence and money
We earn from display advertising and from affiliate commissions. Both are disclosed on every page.
- Advertisers see articles when you do, not before.
- No one can buy coverage, a link, or a better verdict.
- We do not accept guest posts or paid links.
- Affiliate relationships are decided after an article's conclusions are written.
Topics we stay out of
We write about health, money and travel because people need practical answers there. We do not give individual medical, legal, or investment advice — being wrong in those areas has real consequences and we are not qualified to carry them. Articles in those sections explain how something works and point you to a qualified professional for your specific case.
